Our beloved Kinneret succumbed to cancer a year ago.
She gave love, happiness, and good advice, appreciated the simple things, and exposed the good in people. Despite the hardship of her path, she exuded strength and optimism.
Kinneret left eleven songs, dealing mostly with coping with the illness. The songs portray much pain but also optimism, struggle, love, and more. She wished for the songs be produced, even if not in her lifetime.
The Kinneret Song Project was created in order to realize her dream and to produce an album and a book with the songs and the good memories that we are left with.
Patients Coping with Cancer
Beyond realizing the dream and granting her wish, the album places in the public eye the process that cancer patients undergo. The songs allow us to glimpse, and to a certain extent even occupy the position of a person with a terminal illness. On the one hand, she needs to live from tests to their results and to view every discomfort as foretelling disaster. On the other hand, she wants to live, enjoy, love, and be loved. I hope that with the songs and their messages, we shall be able to see the sufferers in all their complexity, and trust them to unburden themselves, to speak out, and to cope.
Producing the Album and the Release Event
Over the past few months we have been hard at work on producing the release event and the album itself — a complex, lengthy, and costly process.

The total cost is 130,000 NIS.
Wait, what? Why?
Before I explain, let me state that the regular cost of such a project is approximately 250,000 NIS, but with the help of friends and family we have managed to cut this in half.
Then why is it so expensive?
Song production includes: music composition and adaptation to many instruments, numerous recording hours in the studio, at times with paid musicians, hundreds of producer hours, and more.
In addition to producing the songs there are additional costs, including designing and printing the book and CD. The release event is also a complex project, which requires: a producer, a musical manager, rehearsals, a hall, sound equipment, and more.

Any remaining balance will be donated to the Ru’ach Dromit Foundation — which helps cancer patients and their families — who accompanied Kinneret and continue to accompany me now.
